Me as a Writer

                                                                       Me as a Writer

The first time I can remember writing was in third grade. We had our own journals which we had to write letters to our parents in. In my letter I wrote about the usual, school, friends, and love interests. What I forgot to put on my paper was my name. Little did I know that when Mrs. Labrum found a paper that didn’t have a name on it, she read it out loud. So after we got back from recess, she read the papers out loud and everybody found out who I was crushing on.  To add to the embarrassment, I still had to walk in front of the class and retrieve my paper. That’s about when I started not to enjoy writing.

Throughout elementary and most of jr. High I really didn’t care about writing. All I did is what I needed to get a passing paper. Until one day in Mrs. Card’s class, she assigned us a paper in which we had to write about a turning point in our lives. This paper helped me in many different ways and changed how I felt about writing papers.

Now I enjoy writing papers. My favorite paper I have written so far is my research paper. When I write I have to have something going whether it be my T.V. or my iPod. I usually write my whole paper in one sitting and that’s probably just because I procrastinate pretty badly. I don’t enjoy reading any of my papers out loud because I feel like people are judging me. My writing can improve, and I expect for it to improve through the rest of high school, and the many years of college.
